PDF Print E-mail

AnyConnect is an FTP client that provides a simple mechanism for connecting to an FTP, FTPS, SSH and Telnet/Terminal client. It supports connectivity with multiple simultaneous sessions, and provides the utility of connecting to an FTP and terminal connection at the same time. While not as feature rich as Filezilla, however, it provides a simple interface to connect with single or multiple remote server simultaneously.

To get started, click Connections –> Add Connection. This will allow you to create a new connection, which can be launched any time by double-clicking the connection’s name.

In the new window that pops-up, select a protocol (FTP, SFTP, SSH and Terminal), enter a name for the connection followed by the address of the server. The default port is 21; however, you can change the port and connection type (PASV or Port).

From the Security tab, enter the password, username and certificate details (if applicable). The rest of the tabs allow entering proxy settings, enabling logging and selection of emulation/code page settings.

Once the connection settings are complete, double click to launch the connection. To upload, cut, copy, paste, delete, rename, view and execute files, use the right-click context menu. You can also select the Upload option (from the context menu) to send files to the remote server.

AnyConnect works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
